1206.0. "Analyticalc spreadsheet?" by OLIVER::OSBORNE (Blade Walker) Mon Feb 29 1988 17:24

Has anyone attempted to get Analyticalc, which is on Fred Fish disk
102, working? I'm in the market for a simple spreadsheet program,
and would prefer a PD (for the price, you know... :^)) since I have
very simple needs.

I tried Analyticalc, which is "shareware", but so far, it won't run.
After following the various instructions for setting up (special keymap,
big stack [120K], assign DK:) it gets the wonderfully informative
message:

***** ERROR 206

I guessed this is a DOS error and reassigned DK: to the FF disk, and
this time it crashed the Amy 2000 with a GURU 8. I'm not sure, but I
think that's a memory exception. Trouble is, I can't fix the code
(it's Fortran), and I don't know where to look.

Thanks

1206.1try interlaced WBRANGLY::PFISTER_ROBSteak knife, puta hole in my headMon Feb 29 1988 17:5012
Lotsa people seem to have this problem. I heard that it requires
an interlaced workbench in order to run, but have yet to try it.
It also requires a huge stack, which you seemed to have set. [100K?]

I've got the AMSOFT fortran compiler and have considered hacking this thing,
but it hasn't been high on my list.

It does look like a neat spreadsheet, and I'd be interested in how well it
runs.

1206.2Interlace works !!CSOADM::STOUGHTThu Apr 14 1988 05:4811
    I have been able to get it to run on an interlaced screen. Don't
    forget that the amiga must be rebooted after selecting interlace
    from preferences to get an interlaced workbench.

    The program seems difficult to run and very slow updating the screen
    sometimes. I have attempted to use a few commands and most, but
    not all, seem to work. Overall, it seems powerful but obscure to
    use.
