1051.0. "SCART Connections" by MEO78B::MCGHIE (looking for a door...) Mon Jan 11 1988 02:03

    A query concerning SCART connectors.

Is the pin configuration the same for both Analouge and Digital
    RGB connections.

Or should I put this query in another notes file (if so which one)?

I don't intend to use a Digital RGB monitor, but have a query from
someone I work with concerning the pins on the SCART connector.

    Ta muchly,
    	Mike

Are you talking of 'Digital RGB monitors' of 'digital RGB monitors'.
Most Digital monitors, like the VR241, are analog...

    Scart is usually analog too.

What I mean is DIGITAL (not DEC) RGB montiors - like as in what
IBM PC (yuk) type machines use.

    thanks

Man! I *HATE* those monitors. Try reading something on thier green phospher
when it's scrolling and all you see is a green screen! (overly high
persistance)

At least over here, one sees Scart connectors mostly on normal TV
sets (which are analog) and analog monitors (like the Amiga 1081).
IBM type digital monitors usually have a different connector.

If you have a digital monitor with Scart, one might assume that
the pinout is the same, but then again, it might not be. And I don't
know on what pin they'd put the intensity signal..

Well I think I've learnt something now.

But I think I should have maybe detailed the original question a
    bit more.

There is another Digit in my office who has a Sperry PC. He also
has a THOMSON television with a SCART connector on the back. He
was hoping to use the TV as a display for the PC. But basically
from what you've said I gather it can't be done ?

    thanks for your replies,
    	Mike
