948.0. "help digitizing?" by NAC::VISSER () Mon Dec 07 1987 14:44

Could someone with a digitizing setup please digitize something
for me? I'm restoring an old airplane, and I'd like to re-make the
dial facces on the airspeed and tachometer instruments, and perhaps
others. I'll probably do it by metal etching or silkscreen, but
in either case I need a negative to start with. The Amiga is a
great "airbrush" tool to clean up the image before making the negative.
The touch-up will probably be done with D-Paint or an equivalent
program. Then the image can be converted using claz, and printed
on an LN03 onto clear, dimensionally stable stock such as 4 mil
mylar. That's the negative. I'll use photo resist for the etch
process, don't know about silkscreening yet.

Anyway, I nedd these dial faces digitized. I'd like to participate,
if someone local to me would be so kind to accomadate me. I work
in LKG in Littleton, Ma., and live in Wakefield (near Lynnfield,
Reading, Stoneham, Wilmington, etc.). Thyanks much.

I'm not very close but I will help. I work and live in
Shrewsbury and I have a digitizing setup.

Thanks all, I got it done. Unfortunately, the resolution isn't
sufficient for what I want. I'll probably generate a new dial using
a cad program, and then print it at 4X for photo reduction.

What about just taking a photo of it and having it enlarged/reduced?

    re.: .4
I forgot to tell you I was lazy. No, really, I want to avoid
having to re-touch the resulting negative, something at wich I have
no experience. The problem in the first place are the blemishes
    on the dial face.
