832.0. "Nice printer" by 16BITS::KRUGER () Wed Oct 21 1987 16:10

    Mark and I were just looking into printers last night, and found
    a very nice deal in a Panasonic KX-P1091i. The thing sells for $179
    and this is what you get:

    parallel port
    Epson compatible (JX-80 I guess)
    160 CPS, downloadable characters, ?? cps VERY good NLQ mode (18x18
    pins), IBM Proprinter mode, 1K buffer, proportional spacing
    (does Epson support that?) AND GET THIS -- a "justify" mode in which
    you send it unjustified text and it automatically fills the line with
    microspacing between characters. It's truly amazing! List price is
    $400+ BIG markup. But this mail order house is selling it for $179.
    *Flash* The price is now $190 for the new model 1090i.
    It has some additional software compatability and is 192CPS. Basically,
    you can't get the old one unless you find one somewhere.

    i'll second that opinion, i bought a 1091i model I at the last
    computer show in Woburn. According to the manual 32 CPS in NLQ.
    Very popular printer at the show, the 160 CPS is great.

    The 1090i was discontinued, the new model is the 1091i-M2
    with 192 CPS for $190.
