632.1ram problems sure do flash greenMPGS::BAEDERTue Aug 04 1987 21:4512
    Well, I for one am glad to here about these!...I have had a starboard
    since I bought my 1000 in january 87.  1 meg...worked great...until
    one day, the machine just flashed green at me, and blinked the little
    light...(this was just about the time I left GE and joined DEC)...so
    had the dealer in NC send it back. Just got it yesterday with a
    note that says nothing fixed, 'cause nothing wrong...we'll see,
    as soon as I get moved in, and unpack my machine. The strange thing
    is that this also caused the 1000 at the dealers to fail in the
    same way! I'll keep you all posted as to outcome, and if I have
    any further problems with the board.

632.2Never liked the color greenHPSCAD::DMCARRAsleep at the mouseMon Apr 02 1990 15:3812
    I've been noticing recently that on cold start, I get a green screen,
    followed by the normal dark grey and light grey screens, which according
    to the base note indicates a ram problem. Only occurs on cold-start,
    a warm reboot gives the normal dark grey/light grey screens. I haven't
    noticed any other problems - no unexplained gurus or system hangs. The
    system's been pretty much rock solid. This is an A500/A501 by the way.
    I've run the MemDiag program from one of the fish disks - no problems
    found. Next step is to pull the 501 board and see if the problem goes
    away. Any other things to try?

632.3Green screen during bootTLE::RMEYERSRandy MeyersWed Apr 04 1990 01:2426
Re: .2

I have two friends that just traded their Amiga 1000 in for a Amiga
2000HD. They have the almost the same problem.

Randomly, a boot or re-boot of the system gets a green screen. The
system starts through its screen flashing shades of gray diagnostics,
gurus with a green screen (the power LED flashes). The system then
automatically reboots. (There is no Guru number displayed.)

If you don't watch for the blinking power LED and notice that the
screen turns green for a couple of second, you would just think
that the system took an extra few second to get to the first disk
access occasionally.

Their system seems solid, and hasn't experienced any strange crashes.
They wondered about the green screen and asked me if my two year
old 2000 also acted that way.

Their system also passed memory diagnostics.

Unlike your problem, their green screen during boot happens during
cold or warm boots (maybe about one third to one half the time).

Since everything is still under warranty, so they dropped it off at
the dealer's to have it checked out.
632.4YELLOW screenGIDDAY::LAWSONThu Jun 21 1990 22:3911
    I have just encountered the YELLOW screen and cant get by it. The colour
    codes as posted earlier suggest that this is an exception picked up by
    the CPU. Also get 10 short, 1 long flashes on the pwr LED.

    Looking into my 68000 manual, i find that there are a number of
    "exceptions".

    Any clues as to where I should go looking? i.e., is this an internal
    CPU fault (replace the 68000) or is it more sinister?
