554.0. "V2 of OnLine! - All Talk - No Action" by AUTHOR::MACDONALD (WA1OMM Listening 224.28) Thu Jun 18 1987 02:15

V2 of OnLine! once again fails miserably at VT100 emulation. It
will not allow displaying more than one page of a notes. Lines beyond
one page scroll across the bottom line. Also, NOTES directories
pop up all over the screen and do not appear as they do on a REAL
    VT100 or DBW_VT100.

The EDT cursor hops all around the screen to boot! Needless to say,
MicroSystems Software did quite a bit of advertising about their
    new and improved VT emulator.

    Other bugs:

o The Elapsed time clock DOES NOT reset to zero when a carrier
is detected, contrary to what the manual states.

    o Doesn't support double-height or double-width characters.

o Requires the loading of an 8x8 IBM font before using it as a
       pseudo-VT100 emulator.

EDT uses relative cursor positioning a lot. Probably that is what's
broken. Another likely candidate for brokenness is scrolling regions.
To see if that's the case, try typing SET TERMINAL NOSCROLL before
entering change mode. That will cause EDT to not use scrolling
    regions.

I'll give it a shot john. Thanks.

why would anyone want to buy this product when DBW_VT100 is so good
and it's free. Does it have special features (other than the time
clock that doesn't appear to work) that make it more desirable.
    ie: regis graphics emulation, etc.

Are there any VT240/41 emulators out there on the market? I haven't
    seen any.
