537.0. "USENET POSTINGS" by Z::TENNY (Dave Tenny | Vax Lisp Development) Mon Jun 08 1987 14:21

	Now that I have a couple of RD54's instead of my rd53 and rd52,
	I have room for the COMP.SYS.AMIGA ENET conference which used to
	be on the AITG cluster. While I will still purge this conference
	once in a while, I'd like to make it available to everyone.

	Z::LISPW$:[TENNY.USENET]COMP_SYS_AMIGA
		has the comp.sys.amiga usenet postings

	Z::LISPW$:[TENNY.USENET]COMP_SOURCES_AMIGA
		has the comp.sources.amiga usenet postings.

	Hopefully my notes server is up to snuff.

	Only COMP_SYS_AMIGA will be purged.
	I add to the conference whenever the powers that be get my
	usenet postings to me.

	KP7 to add COMP_SYS_AMIGA.

	Where, oh where, have my comp.sys.amiga notes gone?
	Seriously,
	  I seem to get them one week, then miss a complete week
   	  Does anyone know the story? My other usenet notes are arriving,
	  just not the amiga ones.

    Seems like /you_know_who/ is on vacation again. For more !info
    (read: negative info) on the subject, try the USENET notesfile.
    It's basically a forum that gets "what's wrong?" entries every
    time Ed's software dies, and it's nice to read since it confirms
    that you're not the only one having problems.
537.3Purge timeZ::TENNYDave Tenny - VAX LISP DevelopmentThu Oct 08 1987 12:258
It's time for me to purge the COMP_SYS_AMIGA conference mentioned
in .0. I will wait until next week; then delete and recreate the conference.
After a two month leave of absence on the part of the usenet distribution,
I think it's time to get a clean start anyway.

I'll purge on Monday or Tuesday.

    Node Z and both the COMP_SYS_AMIGA and DECWEB conferences will
    be down starting Thursday, NOV 19, and is *expected* to be up
    on Monday, NOV 23. The may be delays, but none are expected at
    this point. The LISP group is moving to a new building. The DECNET
    address will remain the same.

537.5COMP_SYS_AMIGA - GOING AWAYZ::TENNYDave Tenny - VAX LISP DevelopmentThu Dec 03 1987 12:1814
    Sorry to disappoint people, but COMP_SYS_AMIGA is coming down
    permanently; unless someone writes a better utility than USENOTES
    to parse the usenet postings. I have a noisy RD54, and just can't
    bear the up to six hour I/O intensive USENOTES jobs. I'm sure my
    disk drive isn't crazy about it either. I'll delete the conference
    late next week, so you can catch up on the 309 entries posted
    yesterday.

    If someone will volunteer a much less I/O stupid job to do the trick,
    I'll try it; otherwise COMP_SYS_AMIGA is going away.

    COMP_SOURCES_AMIGA will stay, it never has many postings.

537.6COMP_SOURCES_AMIGA going away.Z::TENNYDave Tenny - VAX LISP DevelopmentThu Mar 10 1988 19:4212
I don't think many people read this conference, but I'll put it
up for grabs anyway. My COMP_SOURCES_AMIGA conference is going away
unless somebody wants it. It is currently 12000 blocks; and
has all source posted to the usenet comp.sources.amiga WHICH I RECEIVED.
That is to day, the roll::usenet distribution has failed to send me
many postings.

My opinion, COMP_SOURCES_AMIGA is not worth saving. I just thought
I'd offer anyway before I delete it.
