414.0. "unwanted linefeeds" by TRUMAN::LEIMBERGER () Mon Mar 30 1987 07:22

    This weekend I experianced a problem with downloading some files
    that were in uue format .I am using VT100_26 with the vax set to
    binary and the amiga set to image mode. When I finish the download
    and go to run uud I get an "<unknown error>" message .Loading the
    file into Ed shows their has apparently been a linefeed added to
    the end of each line .The file was Robotroff.uue recently posted
    on usenet .Looking at the file on the vax shows a normal uue format
    with no spaces between lines .This would tend to indicate that I
    have done something wrong when I downloaded .Is there something
    simple I have missed in reguards to the latest version of
    VT100,or could it be there are hidden control characters in the
    file .

    thanks,
    bill

414.1Use an ASCII CaptureAUTHOR::MACDONALDWA1OMM Listening 224.64Mon Mar 30 1987 18:364
    Best way to grab those UUE files is to EXTRACT them to a file, edit
    out any unwanted garbage before the BEGIN line and after the END
    line, and then do a TYPE filename. Simple use ASCII capture to collect
    the file on your amiga. Then run UUDECODE.
414.2UUDECODE availability on Enet?GUIDUK::ROYSteve RoyMon Mar 30 1987 19:3911
        Speaking of UUDECODE...

	Where on the Enet could I find a copy of this for the Amiga?

    	Also, not being familiar with the tool, is there also any
    	documentation on it?

    Thanks in advance.
