294.0. "Shared FISH Disks listing" by GLORY::SHIVES () Mon Feb 02 1987 23:34

    In an effort to consolidate the Fish Disks listings, I wrote a program
    that took the small descriptions that came through the Usenet (Index
    it was called) and put the information into a file. This along with
    the Datatrieve definitions and a form for easy editing provides
    an easy way to search the Fish Disks for something of interest and
    to also see where the "latest" version of something is.

    I will make the file etc. available and will update it periodically
    if anyone else might be interested in this.

    I'll tell you what. Send me a mail message saying that you would
    like to be notified when it is available (soon) and for updates,
    and I'll start a distribution list.

294.4FISH Disk listing availableGLORY::SHIVESMon Feb 16 1987 15:307

    Just as a general note. The listing is now available. If you would
    like to be on the distribution list, send me mail. It contains
    information on all of the FISH disks up to number 53. There is a
    datatrieve definition for the file as well for ease of searching.

294.5UpdateGLORY::SHIVESWed May 27 1987 20:449

    Just an update for any new Amigans, and to reach the couple of people
    that I couldn't MAIL to.

    The shared Fish Disk Listings stored in Datatrieve are now up-to-date
    at disk number number 74.

    Have fun,
     Mark
294.6The EndGLORY::SHIVESWed Feb 03 1988 17:508

    Due to the large number of additional Fish Disks and a lack of time
    (I am a software resident and do a lot of work at a customer site),
    I will be deleting the Fish Listings as of March 1, 1988. Those
    of you who have copies, I hope that it helped. I am sorry that I
    couldn't have kept it up-to-date.

294.7Catalog available from FF himselfBARDIC::RAVANWed Feb 03 1988 18:369
    In the latest Amazing Computing, there is an article interviewing
    Fred Fish. He says that you can get a 3.5" disk with the current
    catalog of FF disks by sending him a request and about 35 cents
    postage (I assume that's within the 48 states cost). He doesn't
    ask any extra money for the disk itself, so it sounds like a
    great deal.

    regards,
    -jim

Re: .7

Are you sure that Fish doesn't send you a disk catalogue if you send him
35 cents AND a blank disk?

Re: .6

I have kept a up to date listing of all the fish disks. You can find it
in

What about the list in the back of Amazing Computing? Isn't that all
the latest FF disks?
294.10A.C. Fish List Accurate; Maybe not TimelyNAC::PLOUFFLANsman WesThu Feb 04 1988 12:4612
    Re: -.1

    The list of Fish disks in the back of Amazing Computing is accurate,
    but usually one or two months behind Fred himself. The magazine
    does a good job considering production time delays it must face.

    The up-to-the-day list can be found by subscribing to the Usenet
    comp.sys.amiga newsgroup. Fred Fish posts the contents of each
    new batch of disks as they are released. An incomplete list is
    scattered in various notes here. Do a DIR/TITLE="fish". Hmm, maybe
    it's time to consolidate and update the list.
