179.0. "PJ-1080A Letter O" by AUTHOR::MACDONALD (CUP/ML) Mon Nov 17 1986 15:26

    My Canon PJ-1080A squirts out the letter O as an upside Q. Anyone
    out there know why? Seems rather odd -- hmm, wrong character set
    perhaps?

A guess: It's Cannon's version of a slash through the O.

You might want to check to see if other Canon PJ-1080A's have the same
idiosyncrasy.

    Yep, they do. Matter of fact, the Owner's Manual shows it in all
    their national character sets.

    BTW - The printer is really a nice piece of hardware - well made
    for an inexpensive color printer. A nice review of it in Amiga World
    (couple issues back).

    Memory Location's printer driver works well too.

    I know that on my Juki, there is a dip switch to change a slashed
    zero to a normal one. Perhaps there is something in your printer.

    Unfortunately it is not a zero but rather the letter O. It is
    represented by an upsidedown letter Q. Can't imagine why they
    did that!

    Although, I believe it is possible to replace the rom.
