140.0. "Where to get an Amiga around town" by APOLLO::CHAVIS () Mon Oct 20 1986 15:39

Does anyone know what the going price for an amiga system is? Who
sells them and where one may get a fairly good deal. I have heard
prices from 999 to 1299 for a 512k system with monitor. Any help
    would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ira Chavis

Try the Computer Factory in Framingham, MA. They had stockpiled
Amigas durin g the spring sale, and were cut off by CBM. I read
a note on PLINK from a guy who got a 512k system with 2 drives for
    under a grand!

Also, Worcester Computerland had three systems that they hinted
that they would sell for 999 (512k w/2 drives). Call 754-6160 and
    ask for John Shitell.

P.S. I heard that the NEW Amiga 1080 monitor is VASTLY IMPROVED
over earlier models, and compares well with Sony monitors.

    re. .1

Worcester Computerland has no Amiga hardware left and they have
stopped carrying the Amiga. No big loss. They weren't very competitive
anyhow... (Although they were more friendly than the Leominster
    Computerland.)

re. .2 This sounds pretty good. (Remember -- No Tax in NH.)
