122.0. "Amiga BBS's" by AUTHOR::MACDONALD (CUP/ML) Tue Sep 30 1986 13:08

    It would be nice to start a list of local (eastern Mass., southern
    NH) Amiga specific BBS's. I know of a couple that are very well
    run. Most seem to be using the MicroSystems Software BBS-PC
    software.

122.1Three so far...JOKE::ACCIARDITue Sep 30 1986 13:5812
    I know of two so far, possibly a third. The biggest is Windows,
    an Amiga/ST (but mostly Amiga) BBS with a 40 Meg Microforge hard
    drive. This BBS seems to have a lot of little known goodies, and
    is run 24 hours/day. Another is Worcester County Amiga, run by
    a friend of mine. He is just getting started, but plans to be online
    from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM. He does not yet have a hard drive, so
    dont expect a large library just yet.

    General Computer in Framingham, MA is starting an Amiga/IBM BBS.

    I will post all the numbers as soon as I can locate them.

    The number of Worcester County Amiga is (617) 835-2626, and the
    BBS is online from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Windows is at (617) 868-1430
    and is online 24 hours a day. General Computer has not much to
    offer at this time. I wouldn't waste the call 'till they get up
    to speed.

    The November/December issue of AmigaWorld has a list of BBS numbers
    all over the country.

    What is the PLINK number? Does it cost money?
122.5Everything costs money...LEDS::ACCIARDIThu Sep 03 1987 22:239
    PLINK is a commercial network that can be accessed thru Tymnet,
    Telent, or direct dial in to Chicago.

    Online charges are $5.95/hr @1200 baud, but for a flat rate of $10.00
    per month, you get a 25% discount on all connect time.

    To sign up, call (800)-826-8855 @ any baud rate, and follow the
    sign-on instructions. In a few days, you'll receive a password
    and temporary account.
