Don't know how useful it really is (since I haven't even put my
copy of DPaint into my Amiga yet), but Info #10 had some very good
articles, including 'Deluxe Paint Tricks', page 66.

Also other good articles... The quality has picked up to the point
that I think I might get a subscription... (Yes even they admit
they have been somewhat unreliable in shipping and deadline dates,
but they seem to be doing something about it.)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to DPaint this weekend...

52.2stuck in MANUAL mode...NZOV01::MCKENZIESet Mind/State=TAGSat Jul 16 1988 22:5720
Hi - Phil here. Say guys I have a real problem here! I bought a
copy of DPAINT a couple of months back but due to work committments
never got more than a quick glance at it. We moved house about a
month ago and somewhere in the moving I LOST MY DPAINT MANUAL!!!
    (arrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh wait moan!!!)

So now that I am starting to use it I am in the process of finding
manual to p/copy - but until I get one I have a couple of questions.

    (1) once I have drawn and saved a picture, is there anyway I can
use that picture in a basic program (ie declare it as a graphics
string and print it or mabye there is another way - please keep
replies simple as I havent touched many of the AMIGA functions yet)
Anyway - anyone have any suggestions?

I would greatly appreciate any help in this matter

Along the lines of the previous note, how do I take a graphics image created by
using Basic and use it with D-Paint-II? After creating some nice Lissajous
patterns in a hi-res window, I'd like to save it as a file to be used as a
starting point for doing some artwork.

You could always use GraBBit to do an IFF snapshot of any topmost
    screen.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is GraBBit and where do I get a copy of it?

GraBBit has been around for ages; it is a simple utility that captures
any custom screen (the topmost screen) and saves it to a file as
an IFF compatible image. It can also dump any screen to printer. It
can frequently be used to make snapshots of game screens.

Any software dealer should carry it. I don't know if any comparable
utility exists in the public domain.

There is a public domain program named ScreenSave on Fish disk 55. The
program was written by Commodore Amiga Technical Support person Carolyn
Scheppner.

That's funny. I just downloaded mCAD 1.2.6 from a local BBS an hour ago and
it had ScreenSave included with it. I've uploaded it to my directory:

Would it be possible to post mCAD126 on the network - the latest I've seen
anywhere is 1.2.5 (unless anyone knows where else a later version might
be).

Thanks,
