    Hi there ...
    
    As DECfax support will be dropped end of July '97 a customer wants to
    know what DEC offers as a follow-on product for DECfax on OpenVMS-
    Alpha 7.1 (and later) .
    
    Do we still have and support any FAX product ?
    If not - who else can be contacted then ?

I don't believe that Digital has any recommended alternative fax product. We used to sell a printer that had built-in fax capability but I understand that it too has been scrapped. If the customer stays on VAX, perhaps retaining a small VAX for such legacy products, then DECfax Mail should continue to work even though there is no formal support. If the customer wants to migrate to Alpha and eliminate all VAXen then the customer needs to go to a third party for a fax solution.

    I think it may have been dropped some time before July '97. See 958.1.
