121.0. "Al Cote - R.I.P." by NRADM::GALVIN (o..........|||| Candlepins) Wed Mar 20 1991 19:14

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again I have to report very sad news. We in SPORTS all knew and liked
Al, the king of the one lined responses. Al worked in my group, and
was a very well liked guy. He left Digital last year to persue other
interests. We will all miss him. The following are the details

    RTG

It is my terribly sad duty to inform you of the sudden and tragic
death of a friend and former workmate, Al Cote. Al died at home
over the weekend of a perforated ulcer. It is truely shattering news.
Al, just a young man with a full life ahead of him, was a very responsible
and well liked member of the ESG I.S department for several years.

I'm sure you all have memories of Al, and it might be a nice gesture to
take a few moments and reflect on the time Al was a member of ESG.

Al is being waked Thursday March 21 from 2-4, and 7-9pm at,

                Lincoln Funeral Home
                1501 Lonsdale Ave.
                Lincoln RI

A Funeral Mass is being said Friday morning 10am at,

                St. Edwards Church
                Weeden Street
                Pawtucket RI

I have arranged for flowers to be sent to the funeral home from ESG.

As I said in another conference, I'm lost for words. Al was a beacon.
Recall when things would get ugly in here that Al would stick in a
one-liner to break up the banter.

The good ones *do* die young.

I had the pleasure of meeting Al a couple times as the owners
of the FFL_D would try to get together every year at Sandy's
bowling alley in Salem N.H. Al was one of these guys who looked entirely
different than how they sounded over the phone. The Rhode Island
Renegades never made it to the big league, but Al sure did with me.

               He was a great guy,

Al was a humorist extraordinaire. Sorry to see him go. At least
he had the pleasure of making me bark like a dog before he went,
which I won't just do for anyone.

Al, wherever you are... piece !!
