210.0. "Moondate ?" by BBPBV1::WALLACE (john wallace @ bbp. +44 860 675093) Wed May 07 1997 18:20

    With all the fuss about dates and times at the moment, I was reminded
    of a couple of Fortran date-manipulation routines from a DECUS Fortran
    package (RSX SIG tape?) which I might be able to use as part of a Y2K
    package...

    Anybody remember MOONDATE ? Anybody got it online anywhere ? There were
    also some companion time routines ("the big hand is on the three and
    the little hand is straight down").

    AltaVista outside and COMET inside don't find anything re MOONDATE.
    Notes Altavista finds three references to the Catholic calendar :-)

    regards
    john

210.2Rather have werewolf date than Trekkie date :-)BBPBV1::WALLACEjohn wallace @ bbp. +44 860 675093Thu May 08 1997 09:198
    MOONDATE takes a date and converts to text something like "Monday, the
    twenty-fourth of February, in the year nineteen hundred and eightyfive.
    The moon is waning full."

    RSTS stardate was different.

    Wow. Not seen that before. It would do nicely (if the source didn't
    belong to someone else these days)...
