629.2Already put my money down...PATE::LAVALLEYFri Mar 07 1997 15:455
 I already put my money down on the 98 Limited Edition ZR 600 EFI,
the limited edition is 'clicker' shocks and the easy adjust front
arm control, just like my 97 ZR440...can't wait until next winter..!!

629.3Nice choiceZEKE::BENTFri Mar 07 1997 17:2912

     Nice machine Brian. According to Gene, he will only be taking
    trades in the month of March. He expects so many trades that he feels
    he has to shut people off by the end of the month. My dad is going
    for the ZL500. Another sled that they expect to be a Hot seller.

    Congrats on a great choice. I'm heading north for the weekend,
    (2 feet of new snow) then will be trading my wifes machine for
    a new Jag. Is it too early to begin looking forward to next winter?

    Regards, Lance

    Black or White????

629.5EXT 600 for 98SNAX::WHITTENArchery is my fun! >>>--->Mon Mar 10 1997 12:467
    I just put my money down on an EXT 600 for 1998. The difference from
    at 97 to a 98 was only two hundred bucks so I went for the 98.
    Sure hope we get a lot more snow next year. Derby line had gotten
    14 or 15 inches this last weekend and the trails were great. Got
    a little thin near Sherbroke.
    Great riding,
    Don
629.6Another great choiceZEKE::BENTMon Mar 10 1997 16:0623

     Congrats on the new Sled Don. Another great choice. My nephew
     has the 1997 EXT600, and it's an awesome beast.
     When I purchase my next, that'll be the one.

     4 of us went to Lincoln for the weekend. It was the best riding I
     have done to date. Virgin snow as far as the eye could see in front
     of us. The power lines didn't have a track on them either. We broke
     trail thru 2 - 2 1/2 feet of powder all day long. I swear, my poor
     little 440 cc ZL worked it's heart out. The throttle was held to the
     handlebar for hours on end. One scarry moment though. Going across
     Bogg Pond, my wife was following me then suddenly disappeared.
     The machine was completely out of sight except for the very tips of
     the ski's. We hooked ropes from the tips of her ski's to 2 others
     and with the help of 2 other guys that came along, we were able to
     pull it out of the sink hole. Other than that one mishap, it was
     the best riding I have ever had.

    Again, Congrats!!!

629.7Green...!!!PATE::LAVALLEYMon Mar 17 1997 15:0710
Hi Lance,

 I went for the green sled...that was the only way to get the extras,
the black or white sleds did not have the option of clicker shocks or
the easy adjust front arm control...went up to Pittsburg last weekend,
the riding was pretty good around Pitts, but it was fantastic up in
Canada, the trails were like glass....

629.8Uh ha!ZEKE::BENTMon Mar 17 1997 15:2015

    Brian,

           I guess I didn't realize that only the green came with the
       clickers. Hmmm?? Learn something new everyday I guess.
       A friend of mine bought the new ZL500 yesterday up to Gene's,
       and I'll be going Thursday evening to buy my wifes. Not sure
       yet what she's getting. She said she'd pick the one she wants
       when we get there. Geesh, that's a scarry thought. I just hope
       she doesn't fall in love with the TCAT 1000.

       Again, congrats Brian...... Another Green one to your list!

      Put money down last night on a new 1998 Panther 440 for my wife.
     Now I can unload one of my kids with her at least ;*).
     $100.00 more money for the 1998 than a leftover 1997 with Cat cash.

    Regards,  Lance

629.10here kitty-kitty...POLAR::KFICZEREMon Mar 24 1997 04:2312
     I took a '98 ZR500 out for a spin on thursday....awesome! I just can't
    believe that this sled is a 500. The sled was studded so it really put
    the power to the ground. I was told that this particular sled was
    radared at 105 mph. I had it doing 99 on the speedo and it sure as hell
    didn't take long to get me there! Fox shocks worked quite well when
    pushed. I found myself in complete disbelief of my speed and looking
    around for a bearing. This sled will eat XLT's for lunch. I am
    currently riding a '95 sport (440/F), but have had many opertunities
    this year to ride and compare this cat to. I think I just may be the
    proud owner of a '98 ZL next year....what a rush!

629.11New mounts for '98WMGEN1::nqodhcp-135-56-23.nqo.dec.com::WorkbenchThu Mar 27 1997 15:1414

	Well Brian, I just got off the phone with Gene and I reworked the
	original deal I had (my XLT & $1,800) for the Couger DLX. I bought
	the limited pearl-white 600 effie (+ 96 studs and a cover).
	So now Dawn will be boppin'around next year on 'White Lighting' !!!
	Think she'll keep up on MAIN ST. ????? Hahahaha.

	Gene also suggested I put in the screens on the hood of the ZiRt
	to help combat the carb freezeup problems I had up in St. Donat.

	Regards,

		Chuck
