I'm talking to a friend with a powerbook about various
    new PPC Macs...(like the 6400/180!!!)

And she's asking about whether Linux is available for the Mac.

    not sure where to look.

There's supposed to be a version of Linux called MkLinux for the
PowerMacs. I believe it is available on one of Apple's FTP sites
as well as through a third party.

Try this URL for a pointer to MkLinux. It is not the only one, but it
is one I could find quickly.

50.52I just recieved MkLinux on CD last nightSSDEVO::BRADACHYou can't fight here, this is the War RoomFri Mar 14 1997 12:379
I ordered a MkLinux CD from Prime Time Freeware. It would have taken a
long time to down load it.

You can get the CD for $20. I got the CD a book and an extra CD with
documentation and other goodies for $50. You can find Prime Time at:
