147.0. "OpenVMS CM has different behaviour than VCS with connect..." by HERON::TIMMERMANS () Mon Dec 20 1993 16:00

OpenVMS CM seems to setup its console connections (CONNECT or SELECT comand) in
a different way from VCS.

When connecting to a console,CM will display all escape sequences instead of
interpreting them, this is different from what VCS used to do. VCS interpret the
escape sequences that format the output on the screen.

I did a test with the console output of the DECagent 90 module, which is using a
menu driven comand interface. I switched the console line between VCS and CM to
make sure I did not make any mistakes in the setup, the LTAxxx terminal defini-
tion looks the same on both systems so CM seems to be the cause of it.

Any hints to correct this?

147.1.0 is valid for LAT connections only...HERON::TIMMERMANSMon Dec 20 1993 16:436
I did some further testing with Telnet connections this time and that seems to
work as "normal", the console window has the same look and feel as a VT200.

The "problem" seems to be related to LAT connections only.

This is not your problem - it's ours - the fix will be in the EFT.
