1297.0. "V1.6-201 CTRL process ACCVIO (PC=0007D3FC)" by CSC32::D_DONOVAN (SummaNulla(The High Point of Nothing)) Mon May 13 1996 22:20

	Is this a "known" issue with V1.6-201??

Thanks,

Dennis

We are running PCM V1.6 with ECO 2 on an OpenVMS V6.1 Alpha system. We have
been having a problem with "Console Ctrl xx" processes aborting. It is
currently happening at a rate of about 3 or 4 in the course of a week. We have
not been able to determine any pattern of what is happening on the system's
consoles when the controller proccess dies. The only way we have found to fix
the problem is to shut down PCM and restart it. We currently have 85 system
configured with each controller process controlling 10 consoles. Most of the
consoles are using TCP/IP for a connection method but we do have about 6
consoles using LAT.

The following is the log file from one of the controller processes:

$       MODE = F$MODE()
$ IF MODE .EQS. "OTHER" THEN EXIT
$ !
$ ! Start a Child Controller process, name_num 5, child_num 5
$ !
$ CHILD :== $CONSOLE$IMAGE:CONSOLE$DAEMON.EXE
$ CHILD "child" 5
