1431.0. "PCM and ^P to UNIX hosts?" by CLUSO::tom (If the bad guys don't get you then the good guys will) Mon Nov 25 1996 14:40

Hi I have PCM set up here on a UNIX host, controlling
UNIX nodes. All works well with the exception of ^P.

The UNIX nodes are sables, demi-sables and rawhides,
running a mixture of V3.2G, V4.0A and T4.0B. I have seen
notes elsewhere saying it is not possible to send ^P
to UNIX nodes. Is this true? I made sure to configure
break on PCM to be ctrl-B.

Should it be possible to do this or am I wasting time trying?

thanks,
Tom

1431.1PCM can send, Dunix will not reactVELI::KORKKOMon Nov 25 1996 15:236
        Sure it is possible to send ^P to Unix hosts. However, most
        Alphas will not react to control-P when under control of Digital
        Unix. Apparently 8400 and 8200 will react but the systems
        mentioned in .0 will not.
