Gail,

You can check your ode setup using (from your ode path) check_ode.
You can ignore the devbld/devrcs/devode account complaints if any.
Also, you can try "kinit -d" which outputs debug info.

You can do the setup, as root, as follows: first ensure your system is
running bind; if not, run "/tools/bin/getinfo <hostname>" to get the
required data, and then run "bindsetup".

If you haven't already done this, next run "/usr/sde/install/ode install"
and accept the default, client. You can take the default of NONE for
the ode tools server if you've taken care of mounting /usr/sde already
(see /usr/sde/disks/ode.servers for the appropriate recommended nfs
server). You can either say yes for odemount at startup and supply a
list of pools you use (I recommend you don't take the default "all"),
or say "no" and manage the pool mounts yourself with odemount or automount.

This I believe is all documented in our web page

http://nsa.zk3.dec.com/rengweb -- ODE Help -- ZKO Site Support

Admin is responsible for getting you the account - see if you can kinit
on a production machine (flume, abyss, alpha, etc). Beyond that, send
mail to "odehelp" (cc'd) for any future questions.

Subject: I am Kerberos impaired
Status: R

Greg Lueck referred me to you. I am a new employee, and my Kerberos stuff is
not set up correctly. I can do a workon on quarry, but I cannot bco anything.
I am also unable to do a kinit on my workstation (bitwise). I reported the
bitwise problem to admin last Wednesday, but I haven't heard back from them
yet. Anyway, Greg thought you would be able to help me. If we could get
together today, I would really appreciate it.
