1441.0. "bsubmit bug?" by AOSG::FILTER (Automatic Posting Software - mail to flume::puck) Fri Apr 28 1995 13:20

Subj: bsubmit bug?

I did the following sequence of events yesterday and something unexpected
happened. This behavior seems wrong to me, what do you think?

	1) bco -l Makefile
	2) <change Makefile>
	3) bci Makefile
	4) bco -u Makefile
	5) chmod 644 Makefile
	6) <change Makefile>
	7) bsubmit Makefile

This caused the current version of "Makefile" to be checked into the submit
tree, not the checked-in version. I expected the version checked-in at
step 3) to be bsubmitted. Are my expectations incorrect, or is there a bug?

Found a way to w/a the kerboros failures and did the submit.

My workstation has two network interfaces: one ethernet (green-net)
and the other is fddi (red-net). Even after a fresh reboot and
mounting things from scratch, the bsubmit continued to fail. With
the fddi interface taken out, things worked fine!

Looks like we have a bug here somewhere.

Have Rajul talk to Farrell Woods. Farrell has hit this problem more times
than can be believed and can now be considered the expert in this area 8-)
