872.0. "<TABLESPACE> in V1.0" by CLT::COLLINS (parallel python) Wed Sep 02 1987 15:18
I have an irate comment about the way the <TABLESPACE> tag works
under V1.0. It is totally unintuitive and opposite of the way it
used to work, and it is also opposite the way its related tag,
<FIGURESPACE> works. Instead of just starting the table with the
<TABLE> tag and then including the <TABLESPACE> tag to specify how
much space you have to leave for the table, you now have to make
<TABLESPACE> an argument to <TABLE_ROW>. This is not only unintuitive,
it also broke several of the RTL manuals until we finally figured
out what the problem was.
Is this the way <TABLESPACE> is going to work from now on? Is there
any chance that it can be changed back to work as it intuitively
used to?
Thanks,
regina
