                  COMPETITIVE INFORMATION SYSTEM

   DIGITAL'S ONLINE SOURCE FOR VITAL COMPETITIVE NEWS AND ANALYSIS


The Competitive Information System (CIS) is a sales and marketing
supported full-text infobase that gives users up-to-the-minute information
on over 650 products and 200 companies that compete directly with
Digital  -- many of the specific products and companies that
you monitor regularly. 
 
Product information includes such data as, evaluations, pricing,
benchmarks, descriptions, announcements, and specifications.
Company intelligence includes key information on sales revenues,
sales and marketing tactics, contracts, research and development activities, 
financials, among others.  

CIS compiles and indexes this critical information from more than 30
external and Digital publications:  business and technical journals,
such as Electronic Business, Computerworld, Datamation, and Electronic 
News; consultant group reports used widely in Digital and industry-wide,
such as Gartner, Forrester, and Sierra Group.

The latest news option in CIS features newswire stories from
PR Newswire and MicroTech, a clipping service.  These articles,
kept online for two weeks, can be browsed daily for the very latest
events. 
                     
The infobase is available on the Corporate VTX Menu (under
Product Information/Sales and Marketing/News & Newsletters), the US
Videotext Library (under Product Information/Sales and Marketing),
ACCESS (under Competitive Information). 

The Competitive Information System is a very powerful yet easy-to-use 
online information tool. The infobase allows for both key word and
text searching within the VTX menu format.
