67.0. "Calvary Chapel" by PHXSS1::HEISER (Maranatha!) Tue Apr 08 1997 20:38

"Growing in Grace" by Pastor Mark Martin (my pastor) started airing on
WSGL (960 AM) in Fitchburg yesterday. The first series being aired is
our last study through the book of Romans. "Growing in Grace" airs
from 3:30-4:00pm EST. Tapes of the programs are available for free
upon request (freely we receive, freely we give). This month only, we
are also giving out, free upon request, the book "The Search for Messiah"
by Dr. Mark Eastman and Pastor Chuck Smith. I've read it and highly
    recommend it!

1060 AM in Woburn is another Calvary Chapel station in the Boston area.

Don't feel left out if you aren't in New England. The Calvary Chapel
Satellite Network is currently in 58 cities and will be in 100+ cities
    by year's end.

    God Bless,
    Mike

Mike,

Just a small correction. Calvary Chapel station in Fitchburg is
WFGL. Also 1060AM is not a Calvary station, however, 1060 does pull
 our feed starting at 6pm..

I've been associated with Calvary Chapel and WFGL for over two years
now and it has been a tremendous blessing...

 In God's Love,

  Norm

    Norm, thanks for the info.

I've heard that 1060 carries other CC programming too.

I've been listening to some of the CC programming and I've been
    enjoying it.

1060 is broadcasting my church's sunday morning worship service at
11am. You might even be able to hear me sing. :-)

Ok it never occurred to me to go back to the basenote! :-)

I've been listening in the morning on the way to work. There is one by
a Calvary Chapel pastor in Boston on Revelations, and another from a
Calvary Chapel pastor in Ca. I can't listen at 3:30pm so I haven't
heard Mark Martin (see I did look up his name!). Perhaps he is aired
on the 1060 at another time. I've been meaning to call up and ask for
a schedule. Maybe I'll do that soon.

I like the set on Revelation. I like the way the Pastor just seems to
tied everything to the basic salvation message. He doesn't "kludge" it
in either, it fits perfectly everytime. I need to listen longer to
figure out how he does it. :-)

Info on the Calvary Satellite Network is at
    http://www.calvarychapel.com/csn/

Much of the programming originally started on Costa Mesa's KWAVE (KWVE)
FM station in So. Cal. (http://www.kwve.org/). Because of CSN, you hear
    the same programming nationwide.

Some other great (well known) teachers you are hearing include:

Pastor Chuck Smith - CC Costa Mesa (the one who started it all; radio
program is called "The Word for Today")
Pastor Greg Laurie - Harvest Christian Fellowship (So. Cal.). Holds
Harvest Crusades all over the U.S. every year and
sometimes speaks at Promise Keeper events.
Pastor Skip Heitzig - CC Albuquerque (one of my favorites - radio program
                          is called "Calvary Connection").
Chuck Missler - I've mentioned him in here before. One of my favorite
                    prophecy teachers. Koinonia House ministries.
Pastor Mike MacIntosh - Horizon Christian Fellowship (CC San Diego).
This is the church Pastor George Small of Fitchburg, MA
came from. Mike has an amazing testimony and it is a
tribute to the power of God that he is teaching the Bible.
He destroyed most of his brain in the '60s drug culture
                    before God saved him.
Pastor Raul Ries - CC Golden Springs (So. Cal.). You may have seen the
movie about his life "Fury to Freedom."
67.14HPCGRP::DIEWALDFri Apr 18 1997 17:287
The program I like is from the CC in Norwood the Pastor's name is Randy
something. This is the one currently on Revelations...probably will be
for a good long while too at the rate its going... :-)

Oh yeah, we've gone through Revelation twice in the last 5 years (on
Sunday nights). Each time took about 14 months. There are some
passages we would spend a whole month on. Sometimes it would be just 1
    verse for an entire service.

You sure learn a lot in an expository study.

	Mike,

Would it be possible for the web site to make these radio programs
available in RealAudio format, for downloading and listening at any
convenient time? That way, Harry can "tune in" more easily from Oz.

	Thanks,

If I'm not mistaken, CC makes the messages available on the web in RealAudio.

      Just a small note...

If I was to belong to a denomination that was more (ahem)
mainline, my choice probably would be one of Calvary Chapel
      or the Nazarenes.

I mean that in a complimentary way although coming from me
perhaps it can't be taken that way!!!

67.22CSN RealAudio requires 28.8 modemCUJO::SAMPSONWed Apr 23 1997 23:4111
    Mike,

I visited the CSN web site this morning, and downloaded RealAudio V3.
Unfortunately, I have a 14.4 Kbaud modem, and I can't listen to the
broadcasts with anything less than 28.8. Is there any way to get
the server to switch from 16-bit to 8-bit, and/or from stereo to
monaural, so that I can listen on my slow modem? Granted, the music
won't sound as good, but the speech should still be intelligible...

    Thanks,

I really do like the Revelation program. It actually encouraged me to
pray for more boldness and talent in evanglism.

I also like the way he pulls in relevant scripture from other places to
better explain the Rev verses he is working on. (It reminds me of the
time I went through the first 5 books in the last version of Christian

Since I've been attending Calvary Chapel, I feel as if I've learned more
about the Word, particularly the Old Testament, than I have ever learned
before. I don't know if that is because of me and I hadn't been paying
attention, or, if it is the manner in which CC teaches the Word (I suspect
 the latter).

Agreed and amen, Jim. I think I've learned (and grown) more in the

Jim, I also have learned much from the OT and have a new found
    appreciation for it.

    Jimbo,

the easiest way is to check the web browser's cache area - the file
will be there, possibly even with the 'right name' attached to it. Once
you find it, you can then copy it to another area of your disk to keep.

If you need specific help, send me mail with details of your browser
(and version) and the web site / RA file you want to grab.
