| For reasons beyond my control, I have inherited a collection of QUAD
valve gear..... main amp, pre-amp and tuner.
I haven't got the smarts to get them working nor the time.
I'd like to see them go to a new home and especially to someone who
will bring these pieces back to their former glory. Nothing is
physically broken and all the connecting wires are still with the basic
boxes. I think that the amp is stereo, but can't swear to it.
I'm open to sensible offers for these or will trade for old machine
tools or tooling equipment.

Glad you liked the review. I wrote it.
If you've built one of the early versions there is a trivial, but
important update to the psu cabling. The original wire used to link
the RIAA module to the psu has a rather high impedance.
The solution is to either use a better cable (I used three cores of a
ribbon cable and kept the link short), or solder a pair of 1000uF 16V
capacitors to the +/- 15V input DIN socket to decouple the psu.
The effect of the high impedance is to slug the bass and dynamics, the
upgrade is very simple. You may well already have done this anyway.
The Hart RIAA module is really very good.

The 104B suffers this fault. It's normally caused by the double sided

level amp rated as good as the Mission ISO also includes a power supply.The

price aprox 85 pounds reason for sale some good fortune in geting a valve
pre-amp and a change of plans.This is re-entered due to for some reason it

| I just asked the shop. Actually, my bits are cluttering up their
stockroom until I find a buyer, so domestic tranquility wasn't an
issue.
If I don't, they'll go the way of all the others - into recycling. The
dealer doesn't get anything back from Linn on the old parts, it really
up to the dealer how they manage the returns.

| After a recent upgrade to a pair of LINN Kailidhs (sp?), I have a pair
of A & R Arcan II speakers in urgent need of a new home. Fully house
trained, they sit upon a pair of Foundation stands and only require
exercise every day. They are best placed away from walls and are
excellent examples of their genre.
Speaker cabinet condition - good
Stand condition - excellent.
Price? 100 pounds including stands.

all the above is either new or has had less than 100 hours use.
a few components may have solder blobs on their leads etc but all in

Well, I have to bid a fond adieu to my DENON TU260L tuner, but upgrade
to a Linn Kudos forces sale.
The tuner is in prime condition with all the bits, including original
packaging and manual. Excellent reception and the sound quality was
good enough that nothing provided a significant increase in sound
quality (until I heard the Kudos). Even in Basingstoke, it can pick up
Capital and Jazz FM (and many others) - that's good going!
45 quid.
