3.0. "Who's Who?" by ULTRA::KINDEL (Bill Kindel) Thu Apr 02 1987 13:17

This note should be used for introductions. We'd like to know where
you were/what you were doing at Honeywell and here at DEC.

Please provide your VAXMail address if it differs from the node::userid
in the note header. DTN phone numbers and internal mail addresses
would also be useful, though they duplicate information which is
    already available through ELF.

Save your cultural comments and the like for separate notes.

    Welcome!

But now I'm very happy I'm here.

This is Dave Rocke, saying hello again to many of you.

Well, having been a READ-ONLY for nine months or so while I was
"consulting" to DEC, I recently joined the company: I am now a genuine
deccie, as of February 1991, and I have badge number (and the geeky
looking picture that always seems to happen, I have just noticed)
306941 .... they don't come much higher than that.

I am working on PATHWORKS for Macintosh, the Macintosh side of things,
of course, although I am having to learn yet another command line
interface, the one for VMS (aaaaargh!).

I'm glad to be well out of Bull, especially as John noted in .-1 that
another 400 are out the door this week: although I am not directly
affected of course, it is still a depressing thought:
like many readers of this file, I had twenty-five years
sunk into Honeywell, Honeywell-Bull, Bull. That seems to be a magic
number there now, especially combined with an age of fifty or greater.

I am located in LJO2 in Littleton, on RANGER::ROCKE, dtn 226-2628

    Hi everyone,

HONEYWELL - Sr. Technical Writer, Billerica, MA 1972-1979

Have been doing technial writing as a contractor since
                then.

DIGITAL - I've been doing a wide range of technical writing here
as a contractor for the past FIVE YEARS. My contract
expires on June 30th though, and it looks like it won't
                be renewed.

I just found out about this Notes File and the Honeywell Alumni
Group. I plan on attending the next Alumni Group meeting, so I
hope to see lots of you there!

3.30Hello & Goodbye from David RosenbergRANGER::ROSENBERGWed Jun 24 1992 14:3833
    Ex-Honeywell and not DEC

    Name: David M. Rosenberg
    Address: 123 North Street
              Norfolk, MA 02056
    Telephone: 508-528-7124

I joined Incoterm in 1977, and was with Honeywell from its acquistion
of Incoterm through 1989. At Incoterm I managed a Unix system and
System Programming group. At Honeywell, I was doing planning and system
engineering, in what was the Office Systems & Terminals Division and
later the Office Software group of OMSD. I was a Multics fan and advocate
of using Multics forum for corporate communications. I was involved
with software methodology as a member of the (inter-divisonal) Common
    Software Methodology Steering Committee.

After leaving Honeywell, I went to work for MIT as the system manager
for a large Unix system (running on a Cray-2). I then formed my own
consulting company (Computer Utilization). My two major clients have
been MIT (for whom I am working on client/server systems - Macintosh
clients accessing data from a SQL database on an IBM host) and DEC (for
whom I've been working in Dave Rocke's SQE group designing and
automating tests of DEC's "Pathworks for Macintosh" product.

I have been reading this notes file for a while, but I didn't enter
anything here because of my status as a DEC consultant rather than
employee. However, today is my last day - so I wanted to say goodbye
    while I had the chance.

Internet addresses that work (at least for now) for reaching me are:

    Rosenberg@dockmaster.ncsc.mil (A Multics system!)

    		Writer

    		LKG/TAY2 1990 - present

I left Honeywell in 1977 to persue a career in documentation. I still
keep in touch with a great group of people, and still think of them as
family. Honeywell provided a very close and comfortable environment.

I attended the last reunion in May 1990. We compiled an extensive list
of Lawrence engineering employees who were there in the period from the
'60s, '70s, and '80s (over 90 names) and tried contacting them for the
reunion. It was very short notice, and only about 30% were able to
attend. Honeywell Lawrence has established a 5-year reunion schedule
and I hope that 1995 showing is better.
