FORMER DIGITAL PROPERTY IS PURCHASED AND LEASED

The former Digital Equipment Co. complex in Tewksbury has been sold
for $5.75 million and then leased to Avid Technology for office space
  and light manufacturing.

Located at 1925 Andover St., the 185,000 square-foot building will
undergo extensive interior and exterior renovations to accomodate
Avid, a software developer and systems integrator for digital media
solutions for the professional film, video and audio post-production
  markets.

portfolio, purchased the property from Digital. Digital was represented
by Mathew P. Dwyer, Jr. and Curtis P. Oberg of Spaulding and Slye.
Karen Carr and Ernest Barrueta of Peter Eliott & Co. represented MGI.
Carr also represented Avid and Barrueta represented MGI in the lease.

Can't say I'm upset - it wasn't an attractive site.

3858.4TWO coming down?LUNER::MAYALLTue May 09 1995 17:569

I drove up 495 yesterday afternoon. The building closest to 495 was
having the northeast side removed by crane. The whole north end of the
building and one quarter (facing away from the highway) of the building
was torn down. Looks to be done as to not totally destroy the building

Wonder what is going in there?

  That's probably a valid explanation.

Sounds like a "this old house" solution. Not allowed to build a
building but they can repair and existing one, so they remove all
but one brick and start from there. :=)

Couldn't have happened to a nicer site. I wonder who gets the big
satellite dishes. With today's technology you can probably reach Pluto
with the bigger one!

Rather glad that someone had the foresight to see that as a critical
path item prior to demolition. :^]
