3634.0. "Help on porting/migration" by HAMIS3::RACHUY (5-Uhr-Teefax) Fri Jan 13 1995 10:32

    Hi out there.

I've searched several notes but could not find any "activ" files.
So maybe someone could give me a hint.

We have a costomer with an "handmade" application on an IBM/AS400
    system running RPG.
He asked us for a migration/porting-solution to an ALPHA-systems.
Do we have any expertise to help him??

    reply pls to:

This is about a year old but it's a start. These groups were involved
in System 36/38/as400 Migrations and probably are the best source for as400 to
alpha migrations. Good luck.

They inherited the 'VAXination'tool suite. I don't know if it has been
ported to Alpha.

There is also work in porting ObjectBroker to AS/400. This will
support integration with other apps through FBE. The contact here
is Frank Cusick at GNPIKE::CUSICK. FBE supports legacy systems
integration and can assist in migration.

I have a document from Parkside that describes their products and
services. If you would like it, give me your FAX number.

Also, from my research, Parkside is the only vendor supplying an RPG
compiler on OSF/1, so I do not know who else could help you on your
    project.
