| We opted not to wait here. I've been through the first Oracle class
and I'm scheduled for Oracle DBA starting next week. The last I heard,
if you need to learn the product, pay Oracle to teach, 'cause Digital
isn't doing it TODAY... According to -.2 it sounds like they may
eventually.

INTRODUCTION:
The recent Preferred Strategic Relationship agreement with Oracle will
allow Digital account reps to resell the Oracle family of database
products, including the Oracle Rdb product family as well as Oracle7
and tools, and obtain full sales credit for doing so.
Oracle products will be resold by Digital and its resellers as part of
a select number of Digital value-added packages. This offers
one-stop-shopping for Digital's customers looking for the industry's
leading database and server solutions.
TRAINING:
In reselling Oracle products, it is important to understand Digital's
value-added Oracle packages, as well as the entire Oracle product line
including Oracle's T&Cs, licensing practices, pricing structures, and
resources available. Digital will be responsible for offering the
customer the entire Oracle/Digital value-added solution.
To address these needs, Digital and Oracle are providing extensive
training on Oracle products to all groups within Digital. The training
covers information required to both sell and support Oracle products.
Work is underway to design a complete curriculum for the following
audiences:
- Sales/Account Managers
- Product Sales Specialists
- Pre-Sales Support
- Post Sales Support
- Sales Operations
IMMEDIATE TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES:
Oracle is conducting Three-day training events to their business
partners in local Oracle sales offices located in 42 major cities in
the U.S. Digital sales and sales support people should plan on
attending the first day, which provides an overview of selling,
licensing and business practices. Technical support people should plan
on attending the second and third days, focusing on Oracle core
product training.
