3473.0. "Salary freeze lifted?" by DIODE::CROWELL (Jon Crowell) Sat Oct 29 1994 01:00

I've seen a few notes saying that BP said the salary freeze
    will be lifted.

    Any official notes?

	Jon,

There a reference to a potential lifting of the salary freeze in
VTX LIVEWIRE. It may be lifted on a geography by geograpy basis,
based on business conditions in each. We're losing people left and
right, I heard yesterday (rumor .... mind you), that we've lost
approx. 300 more sales reps by resignation. Now that sounds a little
high to me, after all we (I thought) were down to 1000+ after the
last "BIG" round of layoffs. Resignations are not limited to sales,
we're losing sales support, Software Engineers, Managers, etc.....
Maybe there's a move to try to keep people from leaving? I'd be
curious just to know how bad the stampede is (for the door). I know
here, we're losing people every week.

	Rick
