3190.0. "Need Internet resources..." by VMSNET::G_CHANG (TheFaceOfADragonFlyIsNothingButEyes!) Tue Jun 21 1994 17:26

    Do we provide support/consulting on how to set up Internet Servers? (or
    whatever they are called).

    I have a customer that is a division of a larger company. The larger
    company has a "server" (host mail/ftp server?) and the division uses it
    but they say that to connect to it is too slow. The division wants
    set-up their own "server" for mail and ftp'ing stuff (and making data
    available to their specific customers via ftp). Who would I direct them
    to? Do we sell services (or CSC support) for Internet related questions?

    Sorry for the poor use of the terminology, I'm new to the Internet and
    it's lingo.

    Thanks,

	I was going to give you the same information as .1 . Jim can be
  reached at STOWOA::NEUMANN and Dudley at CSSE::HOWE.

	I don't normally read this conference. Internet questions like this
  are discussed in the SOFBAS::INTERNET_TOOLS Notes Conference.

3190.3Internet Consulting ServicePOBOX::CHGV04::KREMERWed Jun 22 1994 16:2420
I am part of Digital Consulting and the group I belong to delivers the SEAL
security services for Internet access. We have also designed a service to
assist customers in setting up there own gateway into the Internet.

This service goes through the following steps:

	1. Introduction to the Internet - services provided and connectivity
	2. Business needs assessment
	3. Registering with the NIC
	4. Choosing a service provider
	5. Defining hardware and software requirements
	6. Implementation including mail, FTP, and Telnet

The service can be tailored to a specific customers need.

If you would like additional information, I can be reached at:
