2758.0. "Contact NAME for PDC Please" by 58323::LANDINGHAM () Tue Nov 02 1993 15:58

    May I have a pointer to who I can talk to in Contoocook (Nude
    Hampster)... at the PDC? I'd like to investigate excess/unused
    furniture and equipment. I'll also check into VTX, but what do they do
    with things from facilities when they are consolidated?

    Thank you in advance for your response.

    Regards,
    Marcia

    I found

    WKOL::DELTA_SWAPSHOP

    VMSZOO::PDC_STORE

    The first one was node name unknown
        second was node unavailable.

    Contact is Mark Rashid, DTN 267-2332. He is responsible for the
    employee store where many of these items are available. He is
    probably the contact for internal reuse of office furniture as
    well.
2758.3At the MillCNTROL::AMOSTue Nov 02 1993 16:373
    Didn't the PDC store move to the Mill??

    Try typing VTX PDCSTORE

    The PDC store is indeed now located at the Mill in building 5

    WKOL10::DELTA_SWAPSHOP, is more for non-furniture office supplies but
    some success has come from using it.

Unless I'm mistaken, the basenote asked for a contact at the PDC, not the
PDC Store. I think the PDC (Property Disposition Center) is still in
Contoocook.

2758.6I too am having trouble finding what I wantTOOK::MORRISONBob M. LKG1-3/A11 226-7570Wed Nov 03 1993 14:5813
  Yes, the PDC itself is still in Contoocook, a small town west of Concord, NH.
The store move to the Mill makes it much more accessible.
  I too would like to know how to get used furniture for internal use, specif-
ically lab benches with an overhead shelf. I visited the PDC store last week
and they have lots of office furniture such as chairs and desks. However, lab
benches seem to disappear quickly from the PDC store. Why, I don't know. Also,
the database on VTX PDCSTORE seems to be several days behind reality, which
makes it more difficult to obtain fast-moving items such as lab benches.
  I know the procedure to get items from the PDC store for internal use, but
won't go into it here.
  I was not going to post this request here, but since there already is a
topic, I will. Does anyone know of a plant within 100 miles of Littleton that
is closing and has surplus lab benches?
2758.7Try DIAL first...ASDG::SBILLFri Nov 05 1993 10:398

    If it's for internal use try DIAL (Digital Idle Assets Listing, found
    in VTX) first. The group I work for has scrounged LOADS of lab
    equipment from DIAL in the past couple of years (why buy it new when you
    can get used for "free"). I would assume that some of the stuff that
    doesn't get placed through DIAL gets sold at the PDCSTORE.
