Subject: BID Document Management

WHAT ARE BIG COMPANIES DOING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF BID/PROPOSAL
	DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT FROM THEIR SUPPLIERS?

I would like to learn if Digital has a solution or if there is a
Business Unit that can provide consulting to develop one.

	PROBLEM ....

Big Oil Company with many projects and procurement's from very small to
very complex has difficulty managing bids and responses from suppliers.
This can lead to lost bids, bids received after deadline and the risk
of project delays and contractual or legal problems.

	SOLUTIONS.....???????

? a) Use Fax as standard proposal receipt and other tools like workflow
	     to send bids via e-mail?????
? b) Re-engineer the process of bid receipt?
? c) Design an application for automation of bids receipt?
? d) Some combination of "all of the above" ?

Please let us hear your ideas.

	Regards,

In a nutshell. Lots of stateside vendors ship documents such as orders
etc. electronically using this product, which is an implementation of
of the standard bearing a similar name.

Good Luck -
