2530.0. "Purchase notebook at TFSO time?" by 17185::GOLFNG::DONOVAN (Patti Donovan, 445-6390) Wed Jun 09 1993 16:21

    A colleague wants to purchase her notebook when she is TFSOed. Does
    anyone know if there is a policy/procedure for this? Any idea on who
    to send mail to?

    Thanks,
    Patti

    THE PC MUST BE at 0 book value. Check the DIAL notesfile. The
    information is posted there.

2530.2I've seen a table of which systems are eligibleNYAAPS::CORBISHLEYDavid Corbishley 321-5128Wed Jun 09 1993 19:442
I don't believe any of the laptops are on the list. The individual pays whatever
the remaining book value is (doesn't have to be 0 as suggested in .1).
2530.3SALES'S PCs NOT TO BE SOLD MCIS3::JDAIGNEAULTThu Jun 10 1993 17:2611
    The PC320ps distributed via the PC Notebook Investment Program for
    Sales and Sales Support may not be sold to anyone. There are software
    license agreements with 3rd parties involved as well as the
    aforementioned issue of selling a capialized asset ("must be at $0").
    If this is one of those machines it must be returned to the manager
    when an employee leaves the company. If anyone has questions please
    write to the PC Program Office, PCPO @MRO.

    	Why buy one? I recieved mine from the EPP (on a 24 month interest
    free loan) back in December and have yet to have a payment pulled from my
    paycheck. No wonder were making soooo much money!!!

    A similar thing happened to me. The explaination was that there was
    a price discount shortly after my machine was bought. The discount
    was passed to me in the form of delayed payment until the discount
    amount was reached.

This is no secret. Hundreds (if not thousands) of employees share this
experience.
