| You're correct that the date is August, 1957, but I don't know the
exact day. If you look in LIVE WIRE's Worldwide menu, option titled
"DEC at a Glance," you'll see the August, 1957 date.

A proposal to American Research and Development was made on
May 27, 1957 looking for funding.
A search for floor space in the mill began on July 9th, an agreement was
reached on August 20th but the lease wasn't signed until August 27th
which was after the corporate name was approved by the State House in
Boston.
I guess that one could assume that the *exact* date is sometime between
August 20-27.
