I used to get forwarded to me copies of a Newsletter called "vogon News
    Service" or VNS.

Does anyone know how to get onto this mailing list??

Are there other good mailing lists to get on??

The person who handles the distribution list is in France, so given time zones
and such it can be a couple of days before Marios gets done and you start getting
VNS.

Other mailing lists? I would recommend Desperado, which is
always entertaining and occasionally informative. At the
very least it is a reminder of what the Digital Culture
is supposed to be all about.

	Send subscription requests to covert::desperado-request.

You can get Vogon News on VTX, so why bother snarling up the
Network by having it mailed to you.

Seconded. Also, if you're into newsgroups, dec.vns.

And VTX doesn't snarl up the network?

Well, at least it doesn't replicate the same umpty-ump block long bit pattern
in the mail account of every single recipient every day. I'd guess that
reading from more local servers is less of a strain than sending the file
individually to all the subscribers, as well.

Thanks for the kind words about Desperado in .3.

For more than occasionally informative, Nina Eppes (PROSE::EPPES) has an
FYI mailing list that has good DEC and industry stuff on it.

She also has a humor list, but of course that's more of a gamble.

re: .7 VOGON is distributed via a regional scheme that minimizes
mailing a bazillion copies from one point.

re: .3/.8 Desperado is a gem!

Your best shot is to send mail to Expat::publisher.

We've sent mail to the person who takes care of VNS' infobase
insertion, so it's being worked on. Not just an Italian problem,
BTW.
