Could someone tell me what happens in the DEC office in Portland,
Oregon. Is it a support office? How big is it?

    Thanks,

    Lisa.

The Field Service Office is in Beaverton, and the Branch Office &
Service Center is in Tualatin. I don't find a Portland office listed,
unless you mean one of these 2. (Beaverton = BEA; Tualatin = PDO).

Thanks, it was the PDO office that I was interested in.

Until about five years ago, I worked in the Digital Portland office. It
has since moved to a nearby suburb community, as indicated in the
earlier note. It is a sales and service office that had about 100
employees when I was there. Portland is a great place to live, and the
people in the DEC office there are great too. Let me know if you want
the names of a few people there that you could talk to.
1804.4He's right, it's a great place to live.HOTWTR::JOYNER_GLDid I do that?Thu Mar 12 1992 19:597
    Hi,
I work in the Portland area. The Tualatin office is for both
Sales and Service. It also houses the Service Center. The Beaverton
office is strictly service and is quite small. I have worked here for
almost 5 years and I love it here!

I AGREE with the previous entries... Portland is a great area to live,
I moved east about ten years ago .... I like the Pacific NW area much
    more

It might be that I grew up in the area,,, but I have lived in many areas
of the country and still prefer the Portland area

yes, i lived in seattle, is a very nice place to live too. but here in NE
the density of schools is higher. example in whole of washington state
the only good grad school is UW in seattle. here in Boston you walk
few yards and you see a good school around the corner. well you know
what i means. but i tink i'll retire in Alaska. that is it.

I have heard such raves about the Pacific Northwest that they are
    beginning to say things like

Portland (etc) is a great place to live
so I wouldn't want you to visit here.
1804.9 relocation tipSTAR::ABBASIMon Mar 16 1992 17:049

if DEC moves you to seattle area, and espicialy if you'r being moved
from california, make sure you change you licence plate first day you
get there, they dont like california peoples very much up there,
i got a speeding ticket first week i was there leaving the office,
and i swear the reason was i had a california plates on me. i was only
doing 40 in 35 mph street. every one else was doing the same or more.
