See Quokka::OZ.

Mild shock felt in Sydney; no damage.

Newcastle Branch office hasn't reported in yet (maybe noone reads notes),
but no news is probably good news.

Australia is almost as big as the contiguous 48 states.

Subject: EARTHQUAKE

FYI - an earthquake, measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale and
with its epicentre about 50 miles north west of Sydney,
occurred about 10.30 am Thursday 28 December (AED).

The head office building was evacuated.

There have been no reports of injury to employees or damage
to property. However, as a precautionary measure the
building will be surveyed by a structural engineer.

The earthquake caused significant property damage in
Newcastle, a large industrial city 100 miles north of
Sydney, and so far four fatalities have been confirmed
         with over 80 persons injured.

The closest Digital facility to the epicentre was the
Newcastle Branch Office which fortunately was not damaged
         nor was any employee injured.

         Regards,

         Geoff
