930.0. "Video/Tele-conferencing Conference Rooms ?" by CSCMA::OBRIEN () Fri Sep 22 1989 19:07

    I was wondering if anyone knew of a facility in the Central
    Massachusetts or Northern Massachusetts area that has conference
    rooms which have the capabilities for video tele-conferencing.

    As that we are trying to cut down on travel a conference room
    allowing phone conversations as well as video presentations would
    certainly be the answer to our problem.

    Thank you in advance for any help,

    Scott O'Brien

    We have video conference centres in both MRO and MLO, and as it
    happens, Digital Telecommunications and several other groups are
    running a Videoconferencing trial period from 9/28 to 10/27. This
    includes free access to the studios in MLO and MRO for test sessions
    between them, or free use of one and at cost use of a public video
    centre available from AT&T or SPRINT as well as others.

930.3Maybe in Merrimack?ZILPHA::EARLYActions speak louder than words.Sat Sep 23 1989 01:4614
    At one time there was a conference room at MKO1 that provided two way
    video conferencing to, I believe, the MLO or MRO area. I have
    personally used this room (which was actually quite impressive) to
    present to a group of customers who didn't have time in their itinerary
    to travel to Merrimack. I was able to present verbally, use overheads,
    and a terminal (demo) to customers who were located about 40-50 miles
    away.

    The customers were quite impressed with our capabilities in this area,
    and I was quite impressed with the ease with which I could use the
    technology.
