I was wondering if anyone has any info about the group by the name of
Third Party IN-House Software Group. If yes, could you please let me
know where it is located, and whom I should contact.

You can call me at DTN 264-4060, or send me vaxmail at CSS::Jhaveri.

There is group internal to Digital that provides software engineering
services under contract to other groups. This group is called ISS,
for Internal Special Systems. I do not know of a group called "Third
Party In-House Software Group". More information about ISS can
be found in "Internal Guide to Digital Organizations, 1987-1988
    Edition".

Can you be more specific as to what you're looking for? I
don't know if there's anything that deals specifically with
all third party software, but I don't think ISS will help you
much. Your best bet would probably be to talk to Corporate
Aquisitions if you're looking to purchase a license for third
	party software.

	ISS mostly develops in-house non-products.

The only third party products that ISS deals with (that I know of)
are POWERHOUSE and BASIS. You can contact me at PICA::BLANCHETTE
for more info on these, or check out our notes files at PICA::BASIS
or PICA::POWERHOUSE. We have corporate licenses for both.

Perhaps the folks who maintain the Softbase database on VTX
could direct you... they are at Sofcon::Softbase

SMC moved from LJO to CTS (Chelmsford, MA) a while back. JOKUR::SMC
is still the correct VMSmail address.

I've been asked gather information on a software application that keeps
track of inventory in a stockroom. That's about all that I know of
their requirements so far! Anyway, I was originally told to look at
3rd party Vendors but thought I'd check internally first -- we probably
will have a better shot at it!

I've never had to do this before...can anyone point me in the right
    direction?

    Thanks,
    Cheri

Your first contact should be GD Dorai in TTB. He works for the CPT CBU
and specializes in warehouse systems. he can point you to the right
companies, once you know more about the customers requirements.
