You are invited to join and participate in a newly formed
organization called The Computer Conferencing Digital Interest
Group, or the Notes DIG. Our purpose is to develop, facilitate,
and coordinate electronic communication within Digital using the
VAX Notes utility and other tools. Your opinion and support are
needed to help determine how our goals may be accomplished.
VAX Notes is an extremely effective "electronic conferencing" or
"bulletin board" system. It is used by thousands of people to
discuss limitless subjects. Those who have been using VAX Notes
and its predecessors have found a wealth of information.
However, since the power of Notes is unknown to many employees,
its full potential within Digital is still largely unrealized.
The members of Notes DIG want to promote the positive aspects of
a vigorous network culture, discourage abuses, and increase the
efficiency of communication through overall awareness of
standards, policies, and practices. Also, with a worldwide
membership and a decision-making process where all members are
equal, we hope to push Digital technology to its full potential.
