228.1Unofficial support from the UKMASS10::GERRYOne of those awfully nice AlphaStudio peopleTue Apr 15 1997 12:3112
Volker,

Has something been changed at this site?

Did this just start happenning or only after a reboot??

What DCSC process do you have running??

Have you looked in the DCSC logs (DCSC$LOGS) for any errors? especially
dcsc$channel_nn.log and dcsc$error.log.

    Hallo Gerry,

Customer says, that this occured frequently since beginning of the
year. And happened mainly on the weekend backups.
I asked the branch Hamburg to check the Hardware, because
there are a lot of Hardware errors on the TA90!

    Will check the logfiles!

Is there never an "official support" from UK. Did they close the site?

    Volker

Volker,

Yes the CSS group that was based at SBP in the UK, was cut back
considerably last September and the site closed, the remnants are now based in
Reading, but the expertise center that handled DCSC support for Europe was
disbanded at the same time. The people who stayed (like myself) have been
reassigned!!

I think official support is now handled out of CSS @MKO (soon to be @ZKO)

Who is this customer and where does a TA90 come in to it??

    Hallo Gerald

Customer is GKSS near Hamburg, have you been onsite?
The problems come up, when they want to save big raidsets
on the weekends, maybe you will be invited to habe a look?

Volker,

Yes, Tom Kempster and i did the original install at GKSS.

Your best bet for support is to raise an IPMT and get it escalated, but
if you mail me the error logs etc i will have a look but no promises!!
