    There are two alpha servers installed with DECsafe. As the customer
    will de-install the DECsafe and keep the existing hardware and LSM
    configuration, both machines will mount the desired disk groups.

    The customer wants to know that if the AS1 is broken down, could the
    AS2 import all the disk groups on the AS1 except rootdg ? If so, is
    there any impact for them ?

    Any suggestion ?

    Thanks.

If you run without decsafe, you will have to ensure sharing is
never done on the scsi bus...(or else you will corrupt the
data on the disks)...

This could be done manually if you know the procedure, and you ensure
sharing does not happen by accident (like if AS1 is rebooted)..

In short, this requires a fair ammount of knowledge ans sophistication
to do correctly... suggest you consider this as the support of this
can be a real problem if you don't have onsite Digital folks...

743.2LSM will help to some degreeSMURF::SCHLOSSFri Jan 24 1997 13:523
    LSM will also try to prevent a diskgroup from being imported on one
    machine when it thinks that it may still be imported on another. See
    the documentation for "voldisk clearimport".
