3789.0. "Insufficient resources to create/access event pool" by CX3PT2::SHOTO::W_MCGAW () Wed Sep 23 1992 13:27

Hi,

I have a customer (new install BMS V1.2) that is trying to get the
MCC_DNA4_EVL process going. He has modified the
SYS$STARTUP:MCC_STARTUP_DNA4_EVL.OCM procedure to match his needs.
When he executes the file he gets the INSUFFICIENT RESOURCES TO CREATE
/ACCESS EVENT POOL. This error also occurs when trying to @ the
MCC_DNA4_EVL.COM in MCC_COMMON:.

I do not see these errors on my own system when trying these same steps.

Process quotas and sysgen parameters have been checked and are atleast
as high as the recomendations in the release notes.

HELP!!!

3789.2Never mind... It's fixed.CX3PT2::SHOTO::W_MCGAWThu Sep 24 1992 17:457
The customer called me back to say that my recommendation of increasing
GBLPAGFIL (min 1200 according to the installation docs) from 1200 to 12,500
and increasing LOCKIDTBL from 2922 to 8192 fixed the problem. The BMS
release notes point out that the GBLPAGFIL is directly related to the size
set for the event pool.

3789.3urgent help needed!!!VNABRW::CHRISTALON_AMon May 17 1993 10:5320

    Hi All!

    We (Andy + Leo) are teaching a course concerning DECmcc. We felt into
    the problem stated at 3789.* with the same error-message.
    We increased the correponding SYSGEN-Parameters but it doesn't fix the
    problem.

    Our configuration: VAX 4000 Modell 90
    			   80 MB Main Memory

    Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

    Any quick responses are welcome !!! HELP !!!

    Thanks in advance

    Andy and Leo

3789.4Solution: SYSGEN-PagedynVNABRW::KREMSERLive wild and dangerous ...Tue May 18 1993 08:0611
              000
    During the course we found the solution for the problem:

    The students increased the value of SYSGEN-Pagedyn up to 2000000
    (original value was 100000).

    This value was not suggested by mcc_audit.com

    Kind regards
