Problems with DECmcc V1.1 ELM AM and the DECbridge 500.

A customer has reported that when they try and access the DECbridge 500
they get the error:

They cannot close the window and have to reboot to clear. They recently
re-installed v1.1 and have had various problem since then.

Any ideas/help appreciated David Henze Comms TSC Basingstoke England

Here is the info you asked for........

MCC> sho mcc 0 bridge_am all char

MCC 0 BRIDGE_AM
AT 17-SEP-1992 16:50:14 Characteristics

Examination of attributes shows:
Component Identification = "DECmcc Bridge AM"
                      Component Version = V1.1.0

Operating system is VMS v5.4-3

The problem occurs after they double click on a decbridge or
decconcentrator icon and try and click on the line option.
They get a s/w message window which says:

"map window message software error an internal error has occurred in
iconic map pm"

and then another window with the system-f-reoperand message.
They can acknowledge the system-f-operand window but not the s/w message
window, this is when they have to reboot the station.
3760.3Need Bridge AM V1.2 or higher for DB 500QUIVER::HAROKOPUSThu Sep 17 1992 16:398
Version 1.1 of the Bridge AM does not support the DECbridge 500 or
600 series. You need to have version 1.2 (which runs on V1.1 or MCC)
or V1.2.1 (which runs on V1.2 or MCC).

Are you sure that ELM V1.0 was installed on this system? ELM V1.0
shipped with V1.2 of the Bridge AM.

Bob

Thanks for the information. I guessed he was using the ELM am. I have not
used mcc v1.1 only v1.2 so he probably is using the bridge am.

3760.5Bridge AM situation confusing on MCC V1.1QUIVER::HAROKOPUSFri Sep 18 1992 14:2114
    David,

The situation on MCC V1.1 is confusing so it's not surprising
that customers are having these problems. What happened was that
V1.1 of the Bridge AM shipped with V1.1 of MCC BMS. As I mentioned
Bridge AM V1.1 does not support the DECbridge 5xx and 6xx. In order
to get that support the customer needs to order ELM V1.0 which contains
V1.2 of the bridge AM and V1.0 of the Concentrator AM.

The other alternative is to upgrade to MCC V1.2 and ELM V1.2.

    Sorry for the confusion,

    Bob
