3575.0. "mcc 1.2 and Phase V" by ZUREDU::MISERRA () Mon Aug 17 1992 12:49

    Hi,

is it me or mcc V1.2 ? I see the follow consistent behaviour on
    mcc v1.2 VMS and ULTRIX:

Through the iconicmap I register a phase V node entity. It appears on
the screen, I double-click on the icon and the module entities appear.
So does ROUTING (with no '..' at the end). So when I try to
double-click on ROUTING I don't get the circuits.

The 'look into entity window' pops up with the following messages:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
The requested operation cannot be completed.

Entity existence info: Entity Existence Cannot be determined

VMS Routine Error: %MCC-E-NOENTITY, no corressponding entity
    			   instance exists
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

By the way ULTRIX, gives 'VMS Routine Error' as well ..., this is what I
    call truely open :-)

The interesting part is that this works perfectly well from the FCL
    interface:

SHOW NODE brown ROUTING CIRCUIT * 4 NAME

    returns correctly CIRCUIT-1 and CIRCUIT-2
    The following command:

SHOW NODE brown ROUTING CIRCUIT CIRCUIT-1 ADJACENCY * ALL STATUS

then gives the expected and correct list of adjacent routers.

The VMS system is running VMS V5.4-2, DNVEXT 5.4 plus july patches,
mcc V1.2.0 (SSB). The ULTRX system runs V4.2a, DNU V5.1 (SSB),
    mcc V1.2 (SSB).

Any idea what to look for, or what I may be doing wrong ?

    Thanks,
    Klaus

This sounds an awful lot like the problem mentioned in note 2842.
See my reply 2842.5 for a description of what's happening.

Is node BROWN on the Enet so I can try a request to it and see if
it's the same problem? Is that node an Ultrix node?

    	Hi John,

sorry, Brown is not on the EASYnet, no address available.
But I'll check through 2842. Thanks for the moment, sorry I didn't
    	look back that far.

    	Klaus
