    2 MINUTES TO EXPAND A DECNET/OSI ENTITY in the ICONIC MAP.
    
    
    This note is indirectly related to note #3473.
    
    I preinstalled a complete DECmcc station which soon has to be shipped
    to the customer site in the context of a big project.
    I used a pregenerated DECstation 5000 model 240, 32 MB memory,
    with a system disk and one RZ56 expansion disk.
    Ultrix V4.2A stays on the first disk (rz0)
    DECmcc SSB V1.2 as a whole on the second disk (rz1).
    The MUNLOCK, swapping and DECterm patch has been applied.
    
    I created a single domain, and one DECnet phase V node, the Ultrix
    end-node management station itself, in that domain.  I clicked a
    first time to allow the the DECmcc cache to be filled for the
    first level expansion of the global entity.
    
    The following counters are the ones when I clicked for a second
    time.  The response time is DRAMATIC.  It took 2 full minutes
    to expand only the first level.  There must be something wrong,
    but I cannot figure out what.  The disk is sometimes working quite
    heavely, and then everything stops, as if there was a time-out, then
    again, and again.  Also I do not understand that once the entity has
    been opened for the first time, it takes (accoustically at least) that
    many IO's still the second time.
    
    My hope is to have, at least for the second time an entity is hit, an
    expansion in less 5 seconds.  What should I do to achieve this?
    Can we put more in memory ?
