3308.0. "Partial wilcarding class ?" by ANNECY::ROUX (Denis @AEO (887-4059)) Mon Jul 06 1992 08:10

Hi,

	In the module dispatch table (functional or access dispatch table)
	Is it possibile to use a partial class wilcarding in the <V,E,P>
	in order to get a more precise entry ?

	< SHOW , clas* , partition >

Sorry, no. There is no capability to do what you are asking for.

All the dispatch table specifications are used for is to create
dispatch table entries used by the dispatcher in the processing of
an mcc_call. In fact the verb, entity and partition get turned into
internal codes, and are not left in the text form, so that a class
wildcard based on a text string is not possible (today).

Maybe having asked, you could spend a couple of minutes explaining to
us what problem you are trying to solve - there might be another way
to solve it.
